Pleasant Hill is a wonderful place to live, work, and play. City leaders and the community have worked hard over the years to maintain its character and high quality of life.

The challenges of the recession, state funding takeaways and the uneven economic recovery have made it necessary for the City to continuously re-examine its goals and priorities in order to provide the public services that the community has told us are important.

Among other issues, the City has been forced to defer critical maintenance of city streets, sidewalks and storm drains. If these infrastructure needs are not addressed soon, it will just cost millions more for major reconstruction and repair in the future.

The Council’s recent goal setting workshop, creation of the Long-Term Financial Plan, and the two-year budget adoption process have each provided opportunities for residents and businesses to provide their input on priority services and budget issues within the council meeting process.
